Whenever I travel I like to use my Happy Cow app to find vegan restaurants or restaurants that offer vegan options. I enjoy reading other Happy Cower’s experiences and I especially love writing my own reviews! I feel that the Happy Cow app is a great community of vegans who share their opinions on restaurants that offer vegan options!






I found A’a Roots on Happy Cow and they are the only 100% plant based cafe on the whole island of Maui. It is located in a cute little strip mall in the town of Napili. A’a is a quaint cafe with plenty of seating.




We came for lunch after our submarine expedition and I was HUNGRY! I tried one of their specials on the board, the croissant breakfast sandwich, which had vegan scrambled eggs in it and it was amazing! I was most impressed with the croissant because I’ve never seen or heard of a vegan version ever and was so excited to try it!




Ben ordered the vegan caesar salad which we both loved so much that we ordered it again the very next day. A’a Roots has a variety of options on their menu from salads, acai bowls, to buddha bowls and delicious baked goods.






The best part was the presentation! I loved the wooden bowls and goldware and each dish was so beautifully presented with heart shaped fruit and garnished with flowers. It just made your dish extra special with the attention to detail.




I highly recommend checking out A’a Roots during your trip in Maui, Hawaii! You can even meet this little cutie!
