Scottsdale, Arizona
2017-03-01

I followed my heart (Buster Posey) and it led me to Spring Training in Scottsdale, Arizona. I've been a long time San Francisco Giants fan but I've never traveled to Arizona for spring training so I was thrilled when I made the trip to cheer on the three time world series champs! I went to three baseball games during our visit and there was so much fun energy. You could just feel everyone’s excitement that baseball season is back, and watching our guys back in the game. The best part was watching new players and veteran players train together, and seeing my favorite baseball player of all time Buster Posey. When I wasn’t watching Buster Posey, I was checking out all the great things Scottsdale had to offer.

W Hotel

I stayed at the W Hotel, which is walking distance to restaurants, bar, and shopping. They have an amazing pool area, which turns into a cool lounge night club when the sun goes down. Luckily, there were some sunny days so I got to soak up some sun rays and sip champagne by the pool.

Diego Pops

Diego Pops, A hip trendy mexican restaurant with delicious chips and guac, tacos, salads, and snow cone margaritas. YUM. The decor was on point, and the service was great. I loved the entire restaurant because the vibes were super trendy and hipster.

Peace, Love and Tequila.

Hash Kitchen

Hash Kitchen, Best brunch in Scottsdale. We went on a sunday, our wait time was about 30 minutes. This place was buzzing. They have a really cool bloody mary bar; where you can BYOBMB (Build your own bloody mary bar) On the weekends, they have a DJ in the restaurant. I got the huevos rancheros hash which had; black bean / crispy hash potatoes / cotija / crispy tortilla / fried eggs / avocado / red chili sauce minus the carne asada and a huge stack of berry pancakes.(Not pictured because I was super excited to take a bite and forgot to snap a photo) And for a beverage I had their mimosa flight, which included juice flavors of: blueberry, orange, mango, and Strawberry YUM! We loved this place so much that we came back the morning we were leaving and I tried their chilaquiles.

Sprinkles Cupcake ATM: #Goals

I have searched for one of these cupcake ATMs in LA and failed, and I had no idea there would be one in Scottsdale. I literally just stumbled upon it while we were walking around. This is one of my favorite highlights of scottsdale. I got a banana flavored cupcake, it was everything I had imagined and more. Plus, my outfit matched the ATM.

Camel Back Mountain

How do the beautiful people of scottsdale stay fit? They hike! One of the famous hiking spots is Camel Back Mountain. This hike is strenuous, it took us one hour to climb to the top of the mountain, and it was very steep and had lots of large rocks to climb, it felt like a jungle gym to me. Definitely a great workout for your glutes, and a great sweat session.

Once you’ve finally reached the top, the view is breathtaking (no pun intended). Definitely worth the hike up, I would do it again. Be careful on the way down, the rocks and dirt can be slippery when wet. Total hike time: 2 Hours.

If you’re coming for spring training or just visiting Scottsdale, I would recommend staying near the riverwalk because there are so many amazing restaurants and shopping. It’s a college town so there are so many bars with fun games and activities. As for transportation, there are a ton of starving students earning tips by giving rides around the area in golf carts.  I loved the vibe and the energy of Scottsdale. I recommend Scottsdale to anyone who loves baseball, cupcakes, and the sun. I’m excited to go back every year for spring training!
