Vegan in Vegas
2018-07-15

Vegas is always a good idea. I love adding in a short Las Vegas trip in between my longer trips because it’s an easy one hour flight from San Francisco. When Ben and I go to Vegas, our usual schedule would be dinner and a show, lay by the pool, and shopping. My favorite thing to do is getting glammed up because Vegas is the perfect runway for fun sexy dresses.

We always stay at The Encore Wynn Hotel, because it’s our favorite vegan friendly hotel, all the restaurants in the hotel offer a vegetarian/vegan menu. However, this trip was a little bit different because we rented a car and explored life beyond the hotel and the strip. Since we were out and about exploring Summerlin, and downtown Las Vegas, we found amazing vegan restaurants!

Chef Kenny’s Asian Vegan Restaurant

The moment I stepped off the airplane, I felt the 110 degree wind brush my face, I knew I wanted something cool but filling like vegan sushi. Coming straight from the car rental place, our first stop was Chef Kenny’s Asian Vegan Restaurant.

The restaurant was located in a strip mall next to a large seafood city market.

We were greeted by a very friendly woman who led us to our table. The menu was a large variety of different vegan sushi rolls, and a mix of asian style hot dishes. We ended up ordering two sushi rolls and two hot dishes (because we were really hungry).

Everything was so good and we finished all of it! Chef Kenny himself even came over to check on us!

VegeNation

Bao Wow

Ben let me pick the brunch spot the following day, and my first pick was The Modern Vegan but they were closed! So my number two choice was VegeNation and boy oh boy was this place so cute AND delicious!

My Little Dumplings

The menu was SO CUTE! It was so hard to decide what to order because everything sounded so yummy. We started out strong with an order of the Bao Wow and My Little Dumplings. The Bao Wow’s were amazing, they reminded me of “Taiwanese Taco’s” that my mom makes and you know I love a good steamed bun.

The Torre Washington

We ended up getting “The Torre Washington” which is a burrito bowl salad and “Muchas Gracias” which is a delicious black bean and sweet potato quesadilla. As I’m writing this, I wish I had a Bao Wow. DROOL.

Muchas Gracias

The decor at VegeNation was on point! There were paintings from Recycled Propaganda on the wall which added extra pop of color to the restaurant. My favorite wall was the green plant wall with the broccoli. I had a take a selfie with the broccoli.

Pho Kim Long

Ben and I are obsessed with Phở. When we are home in the San Francisco we have it at least once a week, and so when we are traveling we love to find a local phở restaurant to satisfy our cravings. Even though it was well over a hundred degrees we still had to have delicious hot noodle soup. This wasn’t our first time at Pho Kim Long, we came here last year during Christmas, and there is always a wait at this popular Vietnamese restaurant.

They offer Vegan Phở and Vegan spring rolls. And that is exactly what we always have at every Vietnamese restaurant we visit.

Andreas

Andreas is our go to restaurant everytime we head to Vegas. The service is great, the decor is beautiful, and the food is delicious. They offer a vegetarian/vegan menu. I have more details about Andrea’s in a previous blog post, you can check it out here.

Stella McCartney

Ever since going vegan, I’ve become more conscious of not just what I put into my body but what goes on it. As a fashionista, and a lover of all things designer, this was a struggle for me. I did the research on designer vegan handbags and Stella McCartney is a vegan herself and her designs are animal and cruelty free. So, being in Vegas we had to do some shopping at Stella McCartney. It was a tough decision but I am so happy with my new Stella.

If you come to Las Vegas often or live in the area let me know other vegan restaurants I must try and if there are other great Las Vegas areas I need to check out! I will be back in November!
