Vegan in Napa Valley: Gran Electrica
2018-11-30

Growing up and living in the Napa Valley I’ve seen a lot of positive changes throughout the years. I especially love when new hip, trendy restaurants and wine bars open and succeed. One of my new favorite restaurants that is here to stay is Gran Electrica.

Gran Electrica is a Mexican restaurant that emphasizes the traditional cooking methods of Mexico like fresh heirloom corn hand crafted pressed tortillas and cocktails that are crafted with seasonal ingredients.

The decor at Gran Electrica is a reflection of Mexican art with vibrant colors and day of the dead theme. The famous mural located in the patio is by Vanessa "Agana" Espinoza (DJ Agana) which of course was my favorite.

Now let’s talk vegan.

I always judge a Mexican restaurant by it’s chips and salsa. I love a large, crispy, not too oily chip with a red salsa that has big flavor and spice! That is exactly what Gran Electrica had to offer.

I came during brunch on a beautiful sunday morning with a group of lovely ladies and I enjoyed the Coliflor Al Pastor Tacos: Crispy cauliflower, achiote, pineapple, peppers, red onion, and cilantro (minus the chipotle mayonnaise).

With a side of frijoles (black beans) and Camotes (crispy sweet potato) and of course their signature Margarita Electrica!

Everything was delicious! I am definitely coming back to their the other vegan options they offer. I highly recommend checking out Gran Electra if you are looking for a fun atmosphere, hip vibes, and delicious food and cocktails. You will not be disappointed!

Let me know if you’ve been here and what your thoughts are!
