Ram's Gate Winery
2019-02-04

I was born and raised in the beautiful Napa Valley so I had the privilege of living right down the street from wineries. Now that I live in San Francisco the closest winery from the city is located in Sonoma County. I love attending wine events with my fellow wine bloggers and so I was excited when I was invited to attend a special tasting event at Ram’s Gate Winery by my friend Ashley Buehler of Madame Terroir. Ram’s Gate Winery is a short and easy 45 minute drive and is the closest winery from the city.

Upon arriving through the gates and up the small hill I was immediately blown away with how beautiful the location was. The winery is set on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere. The winery was designed by Napa’s famous go-to architect, Howard Backen. Ram’s Gate Winery has a modern farmhouse feel. The main tasting room has plenty of bar seating and cozy chairs for the perfect wine tasting experience.

The Vegan Wine & Food Pairing Experience

The special tasting event was hosted in their library room which is a cozy room filled with books, a comfortable seating area, and a long dining table for your wine and food pairing. The hostess at Ram’s Gate knew ahead of time that I am vegan so the chef had prepared a special menu for me.

If you would like a vegan wine and food pairing experience at Ram’s Gate Winery, you can book a private party at parties@ramsgatewinery.com and letting them know you want the vegan food pairing.

You can also become a member at Ram’s Gate Winery and have access to an expansive menu with some items that can be made vegan. Or letting the winery know you are vegan before your planned arrival so they are able to prepare for your visit.

Unfortunately, Ram’s Gate does not offer any vegan food options for non-members with their regular tasting menus. But of course you can always come visit Ram’s Gate for their amazing wines and their beautiful scenery.

Let me know if you've ever been to Ram's Gate Winery and which was your favorite wine?
