I love going to vegan food festivals. Last year I went to three; Scottsdale, Portland, and Tulum! The VegOut! Event in Scottsdale, Arizona is special to me because it was my very first vegan beer and food festival experience. I didn’t think I was going to be able to make it again this year, but of course Ben is always full of surprises and we made a pit stop in Arizona just for the VegOut! Event before heading back to San Francisco.
VegOut! Events is a vegan food festival that celebrates the vegan lifestyle while also educating those who are curious and want to discover more about the many benefits of Veganism and how great the lifestyle is.
In today’s "
What I Eat" I’m going to show you everything I ate at VegOut! Scottsdale 2019.
Cena Vegan
Ben and I discovered
Cena Vegan last year at Coachella and we were hooked! When we saw that they were going to be at the Scottsdale VegOut! Event our mouths were watering! So, of course, our first stop was at Cena Vegan. I got their Nacho Boat, and Ben got the Big Vegan Burrito. Both with their plant-based carne asada meat. YUM!
Cena Vegan is a plant-based meat company that specializes in Latin flavors. You can purchase their products directly on their website. Cena Vegan lets you enjoy a meaty dish without any regrets about what goes into your body, actively choosing to say no to factory farming, and reducing your carbon footprint.
Evolution Burger
Evolution Burger is a plant-based junk food pop up that specializes in burgers, hot dogs, and plant-based "shrimp". Check out their
instagram page for drool-worthy photos of their food. I was craving a burger, so we tried the classic cheeseburger with a fried egg, and it was the best impossible burger I’ve ever had.
Eat Love
There were so many great vendors at the event; it was hard to decide what to eat. For the last meal, we decided to go for something that we don’t eat very often. So we went for the "Self Love Bucket" of fried chicken and tater tots from
Eat Love.
Eat Love’s mission is to provide delicious food that contains all the flavor and eliminates processed foods and to spread love and kindness through food.
Hot Bamboo
If you know me, you know I love a big steamed bun. I discovered
Hot Bamboo at last year’s VegOut! Event and now it’s my favorite bao bun. My VegOut! experience wouldn't be complete without a bao bun from Hot Bamboo. Hot Bamboo specializes in traditional Asian island food and brings a unique eating experience at festivals like VegOut.
Desert Swirl
Now onto my favorite part: dessert! We stumbled upon
Desert Swirl when we were trying to find kombucha, and I’m so glad we did! We tried all their flavors of vegan soft serve; chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. The strawberry was the best!
Charlie’s Brownie
Our last and final stop on this vegan junk food tour was
Charlie’s Brownies. We had to try the brownie sundae. Charlie’s Brownies does not use any refined sugars, and the brownies are also gluten-free.
Thank you
VegOut! Events for another great event! I look forward to more events in the future!
