Vegan Travel Eats: Nicksan
2019-05-01

Nicksan is a well known Japanese restaurant in Cabo San Lucas. It’s THE place for sushi, and even locals head here for delicious rolls and excellent service. I’ve been going to Nicksan for years since the first time I ever traveled to Cabo, back when I was still eating fish.

Now that I’m vegan I enjoy an avocado roll from time to time but to be honest, that can get pretty boring. At Nicksan, their specialty vegetable rolls are next level. They add a variety of other vegetables in rolls as well as using rice paper and cucumbers instead of nori.

Ben and I love to sit at the bar and chat with the Chef to let him know what we’re feeling for the night. Most of the time we let the Chef make all the decisions and just let him know to keep the rolls coming.

In my opinion, OMAKASE (a Japanese phrase "I’ll leave it up to you") is the best way to eat at any sushi bar since the Chef knows what is in season and what’s fresh. I love that Nick San staff knows and understands what vegan is; it makes your vegan dining experience more seamless.

Nicksan is a great place to bring your Omni friends who enjoy sushi. As well as large groups, the chef’s know how to efficiently bring out the best rolls and dishes to feed your entire group.

I highly recommend Nicksan for anyone visiting Cabo San Lucas looking for the best sushi in town. Not only is the food delicious but the staff is unforgettable! Always attentive and at times very playful. You can’t go wrong with Nicksan for dinner!
