What I Eat: San Francisco Work Day
2018-10-17

When I’m taking a break from traveling I’m back home in San Francisco where I like to focus on eating healthy and working out twice a day. I wanted to share my typical day in the city, what I do for workouts and what I eat. I included my calorie, fiber, carbohydrate and protein intake of every meal just to show everyone that vegans do get enough protein and how important it is to eat enough fiber and carbohydrates for energy. Of course every day is different I don’t eat the same thing everyday and some days I do different fitness classes. I just chose one day to take photos of everything I ate and so this was the day:

7:00am - Wake up

1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with hot water & a cup of Cordyceps with one banana. I like to have a banana and a cordyceps before a high intensity workout because it's a great natural energy booster. Cordyceps is a fungus (mushroom) found on caterpillars in the high mountain regions of China and is known for many health benefits such as strengthening the immune system, reduces aging, and improving athletic performance.

8:20am - 9:20am Barry’s BootCamp

If you know me I am obsessed with Barry’s Boot Camp. I live right around the corner from the SOMA location so it's the perfect morning workout. If you are unfamiliar with Barry's, check out my blog post: The Barry's Boot Camp Addiction is REAL

10:30am - Werk Werk Werk

The first thing I like to do when I get into the office is fill up my water bottle and get myself a cup of hot Chaga Mushroom Tea. Chaga mushrooms are rich in a wide variety of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. Chaga is rich in antioxidants, supports the immune system, lowers blood sugar, fights inflammations, and prevents and fights cancer.

11:00am - Breakfast

Strawberries and a fuji apple

Fruit only till noon why? Fruit should only be eaten on an empty stomach because fruit rots and turns into acid when combined with other food in the stomach. Citrus fruits are like fat burners because of the Vitamin C present in them help the body metabolize fat.

12:45pm- Lunch

I love a leafy green salad like this one from MIXT. It’s filled with lots of fiber and delicious veggies. This salad has spinach, kale, beets, purple cabbage, black beans, edamame, chickpeas with a light cilantro vinaigrette dressing.

3:00pm - Snack

This Raw Rev Glo bar is so delicious and the perfect snack to have after lunch because it curves your sweet tooth cravings with only 5 grams of sugar in one bar!

4:30pm - Mid afternoon pick me up

Before I head to my second workout of the day, I like to have another cordyceps. The Four Sigmatic mushroom hot cacao is the perfect treat. It’s sweet and tastes just like a hot chocolate except with less the calories and the added benefits of fueling me for my next workout.

5:15pm - 6:15pm Pilates Reformer

Pilates reformer has been my new favorite workout for a couple of months now. Lately I’ve been really into low intensity workouts that focus more on movement to tone my muscles.

7:00pm - Dinner

A buddha bowl is my favorite dinner to cook at home (Besides pasta). I like to have quinoa as my base and my favorite toppings are broccoli, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, and tofu. AND lots and lots of sriracha. YUM!
