Calistoga is part of the world famous wine growing region of Napa Valley. Located 30 miles north from the city of Napa. Calistoga is a small town famous for mud baths, hot springs, and of course wine. We spent a relaxing two days in the upper valley and these were my highlights.
Calistoga Motor Lodge
The
Calistoga Motor Lodge is a modern spin on the classic roadside motel lodging. Our room was fully decked out with quirky retro decor, mad libs, and (my favorite part) a hula hoop!
The lodge offers a bocce ball court, an outdoor fire pit for smores, three mineral pools, AND bicycles to ride around the small town of Calistoga. I loved soaking in the mineral spa whirlpool and my favorite part was playing Sorry! in the comfort of our room.
MoonAcre Spa
Calistoga is all about relaxation and spa treatments. The
MoonAcre Spa is the trendiest and chicest spa I have ever seen. The spa has a modern spin on a classic bath house and their focus is making the spa experience more social with communal lounges and a shared steam room. The indoor communal lounge area has tea, coloring books, and a puzzle. If you know me I love puzzles!
For my spa treatment I got the CBD massage treatment. This was my first time using CBD oil and now I’m intrigued to learn more about the benefits. Not only was the massage amazing but relaxing in the spa lounge sipping on tea was so relaxing that we came back the next day to do more steaming and tea sipping.
Tank Garage
Tank Garage Winery is located on highway 29 and can easily be mistaken for a retro gas station. I’ve always driven by and thought "Wow I really want to stop in one day" and that day finally happened.
Tank Garage Winery is well known for their fun label and wild blends. I like that they make one of a kind blends that are small production and once they are sold out they are gone forever. My favorite wine was "Love Now More Than Ever" which is a blend of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Syrah, Charbono, and Grenache. Tank Garage winery donates a portion of the proceeds from "Love Now More Than Ever" wine goes to Alaina's Voice, a foundation advocating for mental health initiatives, youth scholarships and support for efforts of kindness.
Sam’s Social Club
Sam’s Social Club is a must stop when you visit Calistoga. It’s famous for their fire pit and beautiful outdoor seating. We stopped in for lunch after our massage and enjoyed a few vegan items on their menu. Everything was delicious and I loved that our server was very helpful with finding vegan options for us.
You’re probably wondering where we went for dinner in Calistoga. I wanted to check out Solbar at Solage so I called to ask about their vegan options for dinner. The hostess was having a hard time finding options and ended up hanging up on me. So, we drove into St. Helena and had dinner at one our favorite restaurant in the valley,
Vegan in Napa Valley: Golden Harvest.
Our stay in Calistoga was so nice and relaxing. I love traveling to places where the destination is all about relaxation. Have you been to Calistoga? What did you do? Leave a comment below, I would love to know.
Your trip to Calistoga looked fabulous! Definitely want to stop by the Tank Garage the next time I visit!
